Aviara history
After many years of careful planning, Aviara was created when Poinsettia Lane was extended east to El Camino Real and renamed Aviara Parkway. The first residential neighborhood, Pavona, opened in 1989. The world renowned Aviara Golf Course opened in 1991 but the concrete foundation of the future Four Seasons Aviara set unfinished during the real estate slow-down of the early 1990's. The exclusive resort finally opened in 1997, offering casual elegance in a beautiful setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The final community, Tesoro de Aviara, was completed in 2004 bringing the total number of Aviara homes to 2,050. The 14-acre City of Carlsbad Aviara Community Park rounded out the area when it was finished in late 2005.

Enjoy Northern Italian cuisine at Vivace, the signature restaurant at the Four Seasons Aviara. Or eat more casual cuisine at the California Bistro. Lunch around the 3,200 square-foot swimming pool at the Four Seasons Aviara is a special treat in the summer. And don't miss the formal afternoon English tea service served in the Lobby Bar.
The Four Seasons Aviara offers the spectacular championship 18-hole Aviara Golf Course, designed by Arnold Palmer. It's open to the public as well as to hotel guests. The golf course meanders through the Aviara neighborhoods offering views to fortunate residents.
Top quality golf instruction is available at the Kip Puterbaugh Aviara Golf Academy. The Aviara Tennis Center is a fabulous facility with two clay and four hard courts as well as a full pro shop.
The Argyle Restaurant at the golf course clubhouse, is a little-known secret place for a quiet breakfast or private business lunch. Arranged around the Four Seasons Aviara are 132 luxuriously appointed villas offering timeshare ownership with private clubhouse, pool, fitness center and library. Known as the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara, each two-bedroom villa includes a fully equipped kitchen, three bathrooms, a fireplace in the living room and view balconies.
